Jaipur filmfest. to screen Iranian film

TEHRAN, Jul.11 (MNA) – Sadegh Sadegh-Daghighi’s feature film ‘Until Ahmad Arrives’ is to enjoy its first international screening at the 8th Jaipur International Film Festival in India.

Young Iranian director Sadegh Sadegh-Daghighi who is enjoying his second filmmaking on the theme of the Sacred Defense (Iraq-Iran Imposed War in 1980-88) told Mehr News correspondent that Until Ahmad Arrives underwent a second editing before being submitted to the 8th JIFF secretariat.

“I added to the emotional depth of the film and dramatized the story between the Iraqi man and the Iranian girl before submitting it to Jaipur festival, which was then accepted to compete at the event considering the human aspects of the film,” he said.

The Iranian filmmaker also noted that his feature film has been submitted to the Busan International Film Festival, held annually in Haeundae-gu, Busan, South Korea.

The Jaipur International Film Festival, the world's fastest growing film festival, is held every year in January or February in Jaipur, India.

The purpose of this film festival is to promote new movie makers, exchange of knowledge, information, ideas & culture between India & other nations in context of their social and cultural ethos. JIFF also promotes friendship and co-operation among people of the world through the medium of films & documentaries.

Acclaimed Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi was awarded the first International Life Time Achievement Award of the 7th Jaipur International Film Festival (JIFF).

Every year a great number of Iranian films are screened at Jaipur International Film Festival in India. Iran was the first guest of honor at JIFF 2011.

In its last year edition, Iran participated in the festival with 4 nominations: Today, Iranian NinjasNajes and Bending the RulesA Few Cubic Meters of Love, a 2014 Iranian-Afghan romance film directed by Jamshid Mahmoudi was the opening film of the festival.

The 8th Jaipur International Film Festival will run from January 2-6, 2016 in India.
